Visitors in the atrium of the National Army Museum

The National Army Museum is for everyone.

We offer a range of facilities including:

  • Cloakroom
  • Accessible toilets and a Changing Places facility on the Ground floor
  • Baby changing (Ground, First and Second floors)
  • Baby feeding (First floor)
  • Free Wi-Fi throughout the Museum

Security

The safety of our visitors, staff, collections and building are of upmost importance to us. We are constantly reviewing our security policies and procedures and we ask that all visitors note the following:

  • The National Army Museum conducts bag searches and it is a condition of entry that all visitors present their bags to a security officer on arrival. The searches look for restricted items and any other material that might be considered a risk to our collection, or to the health and safety and enjoyment of our visitors. If our staff members find anything they consider to be illegal, they will confiscate it and contact the police.
  • Knifes and sharp objects are not allowed into the Museum.
  • Bags/items of luggage larger than 45x30x45cm are not allowed on the National Army Museum premises for safety and security reasons.
  • Bikes (including children’s bikes), folding bikes, e-bikes and e-scooters are not permitted in the Museum or cloakroom. Cycle hoops are situated in front of the building for visitors to secure bicycles using their own locks.

Access and equality

The National Army Museum hopes that everyone who visits will be able to enjoy their experience. There is full access to the galleries, and we have a wide range of services for disabled visitors.

Cloakroom and luggage

The National Army Museum has a cloakroom that can be accessed via the Welcome Desk. We regret that we are unable to store large items of luggage or suitcases and these are not permitted in the Museum. The nearest left-luggage facility is at Victoria Station.

  • Visitors may leave coats, small bags and umbrellas.
  • Visitors may leave folded pushchairs. However, we can only accept a limited number.
  • Visitors may leave non-electric scooters that can be folded. However, we can only accept a limited number.
  • Owing to space restrictions, items bigger than 45x30x45cm cannot be accepted.
  • Items heavier than 10kg will not be accepted.
  • Bikes (including children’s bikes), folding bikes, e-bikes and e-scooters are not permitted in the Museum or cloakroom.
  • Neither the National Army Museum nor its employees accept any liability for the loss of, or damage to, anything left in the cloakrooms.
  • All items left in the cloakrooms may be searched in the interests of safety and security.
  • Cloakroom staff may examine any item before accepting it and reserve the right to refuse items.
  • All items deposited in the cloakroom should be collected before leaving the Museum.
