Whatever the weather

Soldiers have to be ready for anything! Explore and test materials by designing and building a shelter that will keep a soldier dry.
Do you have the skills to survive all weathers?
Providing soldiers with clothing and equipment for any eventuality requires lots of planning. Learners investigate the properties of a range of historic and contemporary materials used by the Army, before being challenged to build a waterproof shelter for their own soldier.
Learners are also introduced to the concepts of making predictions, observing experiments and designing a fair test.
