SAS Duty Before Glory

‘SAS Duty Before Glory’ book cover
Join Tony Rushmer as he shares the story of 'SAS Original' Reg Seekings and his journey to become one of the most highly decorated Special Forces soldiers of the Second World War.

The Second World War saw a number of previously unknown figures rise to prominence through their service and dedication. One of these was Reg Seekings, who was among the first recruits to the Special Air Service (SAS) in the summer of 1941.

Seekings soon became involved in a series of daring behind-the-lines operations in North Africa, including the new unit’s very first successful assault at Tamet airfield. He continued to serve all the way through Sicily, Italy and even survived a bullet to the base of his skull in France. Reg would also be part of an SAS jeep patrol on the day the infamous Bergen-Belsen concentration camp was liberated.

In this exciting talk, Tony Rushmer will chart Reg’s rise from farm labourer’s son to SAS squadron sergeant major. He will examine his service throughout the war and highlight how his fierce ambition, inner strength and courage have made him one of the SAS’s defining figures.
