In a deeply moving programme, the combined choirs will explore the breadth of musical expression of human conflict, misery, loss, redemption and peace.
As well as MacMillan's 'Miserere', Parry's 'Songs of Farewell' and Howells' 'Requiem', the programme features pieces by German composers rarely performed in the UK. These include the heartbreakingly emotive 'Wie liegt die Stadt so Wüst' by Mauersberger and Hessenberg's powerful setting of the Peace Prayer of St Francis of Assisi, 'O Herr, mache mich zum Werkzeug deines Friedens'.
Performances run from 1pm to 1.30pm and from 3pm to 3.30pm in the Atrium.
