Famous for his epic journey through the desert, TE Lawrence is a figure who continues to capture public interest over 100 years since his involvement in the Arab Revolt against the Ottoman Empire.
His ideas on warfare have also endured, informing those aspiring to partner with local forces to this day.
Dr Johnson explores Lawrence’s ideas from a fresh perspective, engaging with the Ottoman-Turkish view and offering new insight into his military operations.
Dr Rob Johnson is a lecturer at the University of Oxford and an Associate Professor at the Department of Politics and International Relations. He also advises military and government personnel on strategic issues, including those relating to partnering and mentoring military forces, like TE Lawrence.
Dr Johnson will be in conversation with Robert Fleming, Templer Study Centre Manager at the National Army Museum.
