Levison Hopkin Wood served with 2nd Battalion The Royal Welch Fusiliers during the Second World War (1939-45), taking part in the long and gruelling campaign in Burma against the forces of the Japanese Imperial Army.
In this short film, recorded in 2020 to mark the 75th anniversary of the Japanese surrender, Levison takes an emotional journey back in time. With the help of his dad and Dr Peter Johnston of the National Army Museum, he discovers not only his grandfather's personal story, but that of many other soldiers who fought in this 'Forgotten War'.
